Gathering commemorating 20th anniversaries of NAIST graduation of Bio 10th and 11th classes was held along with 30th anniversary event of Bio 1st graduates
To commemorate the 20th and 30th anniversaries of NAIST graduation, nearly 70 people, primarily consisting of students from the Bio 1st, 10th, and 11th classes, as well as faculty and staff from those days, gathered at the newly opened Grand Green Osaka on November 15th. Following a speech by Professor Kenji Kohno, a toast was proposed by Professor Kozo Kaibuchi, who spent his time with the Bio 1st students.
Some reunited for the first time since their graduation, conversation among them evoked fond memories of their time at NAIST; passion, smiles, and incidents which game them a scare during their lives devoted in biological research. Participants also shared updates on their career, building many new connections not limited to those within scientific research communities.
The event was concluded by a speech by Professor Masashi Kawaichi. He delivered a message of encouragement, urging everyone to persevere, as the way they spend their time at this stage of life will be the foundation for their lives in their 60s and 70s.
The gathering was a great success, with many people rediscovered their roots in NAIST.
